Calm Seas

This necklace is made of dyed shell, faceted Czech polished beads, silver spacers, silver findings and a silver plated chain. The deep shade of blue-green is reminiscent of a calm sea which is so relaxing.

I tried to use these elongated shell beads for another asymmetrical design, as I did with yesterdays feature, but I just couldn't get it to work that way. Sometimes you just have to do what the beads want to do and not what you want to!

Busy Busy Busy

The last few weeks have been so busy. For some extra money, I took on a handquilting project for a friend of my mother's, so that has taken up a lot of my time. I would say that I am about 20% done with it, but wish I was more! LOL

Anyway, my first show of the year is coming up on April 25th and the above necklace is one of my newest designs which will be on display. It is made of dyed shell, faceted beads, bicones and silver-plated chain. This is another asymmetrical design which I am hoping will prove popular.

I am trying to be realistic about the upcoming show. I figure if I can make the $10 table fee back I will have had a successful day. Anything above $10 is frosting on the cake! One thing I have on my side is this show is right before Mother's Day! That can be a great selling point for jewelry!

I am going to be trying to post a little more regularly, but since the weather is turning nice, outdoor projects are calling me. We have lots planned this year and my list of craft projects grows each day! Blogging will get worked into the schedule somehow!
